WOW ok! So i'm finally here (well i have been for almost tow weeks now). What a journey already.
Lets start with the plane ride here. Long 7 1/2 hr intervals between, Brisbane, Singapore, Dubai and finally Milan. longest day of sunshine in my life! ha. It didnt help that i was still getting over my spell of food poisioning (damn you sushi!). But i got to Milan safe and sound. Found Crissy and off we went to our hotel.
Milan: well, let me say that if you ever want to be excepted anywhere near a catherdral wear long pants, and a sleeved top! It'll save you the embarrassment of being turned away at the door by the fashion police! ha. Anyway, when we retured to our hotel, got changed and came back to the catherdral we were more than welcomed inside. The struture and history of it was incredible, we even got to climb to the roof and hang out for a while as a parade involving military units below was being played out.
Haha. i almost forgot. Morrocans...the sneaky little dudes..come up to you in the square and basically rape your arm with a little rainbow cotton braclet, claiming that "you are my sister", "sister where are you from, Africa?"...Um NO! then they have the nerve to try to make money out of this silly little braclet market...hell no i will not pay a euro for something i didnt reallllly want..(it is pretty cool though) but maybe if he'd gone about it in a different way i might have parted with some mulah. I only had big notes anyways. So just after i was wrist raped by a morrocan, an Albanian comes up to me(i'm blind-sited) grabs my hand and forces corn or something like that into it for the swarm of pigeons around me to feast upon! haha before i knew it i had about 10 birds perched on my arms and head..gosh they think of some original ways to make a Euro!
I went to H&M (nar, nar, nar lisa!) i didn't buy anything yet though because i had no euros spare! DAMN! So fashion capital Milan...did it live up to standards? i wouldn't know, i don't give a flying fudge about fashion if im going to be completely honest haha. i mean there were all the big names, Armani, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana...blah blah.. yes there were lots of shops if you're into that sort of thing? i was more interested in finding out who was italian and who was a romanian or albanian!(if you haven't seen "Taken", go and rent it asap)
Train Ride: Milan to Trento..in 3 1/2 hrs flat! Nothing much to note about train rides they're all the same really. Freaky guys. Crazy gypsys trying to make a buck. We spent our time watching Dr. House(as he is know in italia) and funny clips, like women drivers and a funny cadbury add.
Trento: Ahhh what a Beautiful little town..gosh i wish i could upload pictures. Small but much nicer than a big city like Milan! Situated in a valley of mountains, im talking MOUNTAINS; bigger than i have ever seen, and then there are bigger ones i didnt even know exsisted yet (till i went for a hike in one of the mountains with my new family). I'm going to leave Trento and write a blog on itself later on.
It's good to be here, with my new family, the Bouquet & Braico family in Villamontgna. The view up here is better than living in the centre of Trento! I am loving the warm weather and the well behaved kids. That fact i have to catch a bus is exciting, i like people watching and buses are great for that. i love that i get weekends free, and that its summer and there are copious amounts of festivities to be had. i love that italians are so shy..at first. i love that when u go out for a drink, italians litteraly mean A drink..and it last for an hour...no funnels or sculling here. i love that i have an excuse to eat pasta nearly every day (and that i live at the top of a hill so there is only a minimal chance of my putting on the kilos). i love that people drive in third gear most of the time, sometimes forth when on the motorway. i love the freshwater lakes. i love that dirtbikes/motorcross bikes can be driven on the roads. i love that im going to learn to drive on the wrong(right)side of the road. I love that i might come home being bi-lingual. i love this family, they are so open, genreous, kind, flexible and real. i love that im reading 3 books a weeeeeeeek! ha, and that the library had and english section(thank you god) i love that i dont always have internet access and im learning to bring things back to basics and find different ways of entertaining myself. i love that every bathroom has a bee-day(cant spell it but u know the bum washer thing) i LOVE GELATO oh my god. im sorry baskins i am ever so loyal to you, but gelato is just on a new level of greatness. one thing i loathe is the dress code! closed in shoes and jeans...COME on people its HOT wear 'summer' clothes..grrr
So far so good. i am falling in love with italy. my first impressions of this country last time i visited were that of rude people and not very pretty landscape-wise.
Now all i need to do its find me a nice Italian Lover...! ;)
